Who Owns Custom Software Built by AltaPro AI?

Ownership depends on the model in the agreement. With a Client-Owned Build, the project software, source code and documentation are transferred to your company. With a build on AltaPro AI Core, you control your data, workflows and configuration while AltaPro AI keeps the reusable platform. A Protected Market agreement adds contractual protection from direct competitors. Your data stays yours under every model.

We Support All Three.

Some clients want to own the completed project outright. Some prefer to build faster and spend less by licensing AltaPro AI's proven technology. Others need contractual protection preventing a strategically similar system from being deployed for direct competitors.

Client-Owned Build

The specifically defined project software is transferred to your company under the agreement.

Your company receives the project source code, agreed documentation and the rights required to operate, modify or transition the system. AltaPro AI can continue operating and improving it under a separate support agreement.

AltaPro AI background technology, third-party services and open-source components are identified separately so there is no confusion about what is being transferred.

Chosen when: You want to own the completed project outright.

Built on AltaPro AI Core

AltaPro AI configures its reusable software foundation around your operation.

Your company controls its data, confidential operating information, workflows and client-specific configuration. AltaPro AI retains the underlying platform, generic connectors and reusable components.

This model reduces the cost and risk of rebuilding capabilities that AltaPro AI has already engineered and tested.

Chosen when: You want to build faster and spend less by licensing proven technology.

Protected Market

When the system creates a material competitive advantage, AltaPro AI can provide contractual market protection.

The agreement defines the protected solution, industry, geography, competitors and duration. During that period, AltaPro AI will not license or deploy the protected solution within the agreed market.

AltaPro AI can continue using its underlying technology outside the protected field.

Chosen when: You need protection from a strategically similar system being deployed for direct competitors.

Who Owns the Software AltaPro AI Builds?

It depends on the ownership model in the agreement. Under a Client-Owned Build, the defined project software, source code and agreed documentation are transferred to your company. Under a build on AltaPro AI Core, your company controls its data, workflows and configuration while AltaPro AI retains the underlying platform. Ownership and reuse rights are settled before engineering begins.

What Is AltaPro AI Core?

AltaPro AI Core is AltaPro AI's reusable software foundation: the underlying platform, generic connectors and components that have already been engineered and tested. Building on it reduces the cost and risk of rebuilding those capabilities for your operation.

Can AltaPro AI Build the Same System for My Competitor?

Under a Protected Market agreement, no. The agreement defines the protected solution, industry, geography, competitors and duration, and during that period AltaPro AI will not license or deploy the protected solution within the agreed market.

Is My Data Ever Reused for Another Client?

No, under every model. Your data remains yours, your confidential pricing, documents, formulas and operating information are not reused for another client, and your business records remain exportable in an agreed format.
